Harvey and Scott
Harvey Mackay and Scott Mitchell describe themselves as joined at the hip. Since their initial meeting twenty years ago, both marvel that they have never had a serious disagreement, never a harsh word- two peas in a pod. At a dinner between the two of them in the beginning of their relationship, Scott asked Harvey: "What's the mission of our company?" Harvey immediately responded, "To be in business forever!"
Scott and Harvey have always said, "To be in business forever means you have to hire correctly, right size efficiently, be the low cost provider and above all gather a group of hungry fighters that know exponentially more about their customers than the competition."
Scott has said of Harvey: "He is the perfect Chairman; if I ask his advice, he never later asks me if I followed it. He knows then I will keep coming back to him on the tough issues."
